“Fantastic Getaway, cabin was clean, well equipped and comfortable. Cheers to being 'pet friendly' Getaway Cabins®!! Homer roamed, sniffed explored and was so happy that we brought him along“
Ray & Laurie, Pittsburgh, PA
“My 'big dogs' wanted to take a vacation to celebrate their 30th anniversary and wanted to include ME! Mommy searched for dog friendly lodging and found Getaway Cabins® and made a reservation. When we arrived they both were pleased everything looked just as described on the website. Mommy kept commenting how all the little things were thought of and taken care of.
Daddy loved the satellite TV and wireless internet. I just loved being part of the vacation. When they hiked during the day I napped. I enjoyed sitting on the deck when they ate and grilled out. Mommy made my favorite foods- pork chops, chicken & pasta. P.S. Mommy says they will come back again. I hope they bring me! On the last day we went to the store and mommy bought some deer treats. After our walk they made me stay in the cabin and they told me they saw a daddy deer who came to the feeding station! It was so cool they said!“

“My mother (88 years old) and I came here with my friend and her dog, Trixie, for a girlfriends getaway. We had a great time trying new recipes on the grill. The cabin was comfy and clean. Trixie, the dog, loved long walks in the woods. Her goal was to leave no leaf unsniffed! She wants to come back again to sniff the other 10,000,000,000 leaves she missed the first time!“

“We found this place on the internet through PetsWelcome.com. We wanted to include our 3 year old Golden Retriever on the vacation. We all had a rough year due to our 9 year old Siberian Husky, Hunter (aka Boo-Boo) passing away in late spring. Piper misses her big brother. So we decided to take her on a mini getaway. We went hiking & visited Cedar Falls, Old Man's Cave, and Ash Cave. Piper enjoyed the hiking. The following day we went canoeing on the Hocking River. Piper at first was nervous but then got used to being in the canoe and even played in the river when we stopped for "breaks" on some of the sand bars. At our cabin we were able to use the hot tub everyday and also cooked on the grill. The deck was excellent to sit on and "critter watch." We saw several deer- including a "6 point" and "8 point" buck. We would highly recommend these cabins to our friends and family.“
Dwayne, Joy, Trent, & Piper, Plainfield, IN
“We have travelled all over the United States with our dogs. We have stayed in some
wonderful accommodations in some beautiful a places. When we pulled into The Lodge at Lane’s End and
then entered this absolutely spectacular log cabin, we immediately realized that this beautiful cabin
was the best we had ever seen. We always appreciate pet friendly accommodations because we like to travel
with our two dogs, Bailey and Bella. The accommodations were aesthetically pleasing, comfortable, and
practical. Even our dogs thoroughly enjoyed their stay! “
Tim & Mary Lou, Parma Heights, OH
“We were surprised and happy with how clean the cabin was with it being pet friendly-no dog
hair or dog smells-very well done. We will be back!"
Christopher & Dawn, Columbus, OH
“When our humans packed the car we thought we were just going to
the park-we had no idea we were going on vacation with them! They found us a great
cabin in the woods. We had plenty of room for our beds and tennis balls. Wild turkeys
came to visit, and we saw a deer at the turnoff. Then we went for the coolest hike
ever at Old Man’s Cave. They let us go swimming and run through mud and climb stairs
on the trail. We saw lots of other dogs walking their people too! We had no idea we’d
done 6 miles until we got “home” and fell asleep on the deck all evening. And then miracle
of miracles, the humans remembered to feed us and even grilled steak which we don’t think
we’ve ever had before, but which we will now demand, and then we were really done. We think
they got in that big water thing and then watched a movie, but honestly we were too tired
to watch them anymore. We had a great weekend-Thanks for letting us come!
Ruby & River, Waynesville, OH
“Our dogs
just loved the exercise they got daily and just hung out by
the campfire all evening. The only thing that could wake
them was the deer at the salt lick out back. Thanks to the
owners for making this a pet friendly cabin. We will respect
that privilege."
Pat & Gary,
Peninsula, OH
“I’ve taken my dog, Mr. Peabody away on a couple of short
trips before, but have been disappointed with the
accommodations for traveling with a pet. It was such a
pleasure to walk into the cabin and find it so clean and
welcoming for me and my dog.”
Denise,
Macedonia, OH
“Chester and Hope (Corgis) give the Guest Nest two paw up!”
Michael & Connie, Bellfontaine, OH
“Drove over from Hamilton, Ohio, and brought our dog
“Prancer” with us. She’s our 9 year old Golden Retriever.
This was her first vacation away and what a new adventure it
was for her! We brought a couple of her toys and blankets,
and she felt right at home. We enjoyed the walks in the
woods and the nice trails.”

Daphne, Hamilton, OH
